Embalming
...the Science of Preservation
...the Art of Presentation
The most important person at a Memorial Service is the Deceased.
All eyes and thoughts will be focused on him in meaningful retrospection. This makes it necessary for the body to be properly preserved and presented. In doing so, the funeral becomes a meaningful gathering - for those present to reflect on the life that has been lived and to determine the impact of the passing on those who continue.
"Embalming" is the process of properly preserving and presenting the body.
The science is to preserve the body from decomposition. If not done properly, the body will decompose and emit a foul stench with the usual infestations of maggots. No funeral will be pleasant or dignified if the body is allowed to rot without embalming. The alternative is to seal the coffin prematurely, but this will deprive relatives and friends a more meaningful visit when paying their last respects.
The art in Embalming is presenting the deceased in a form which will facilitate relatives and friends to reflect on the life that was lived. While not available to most funeral companies, well-trained embalmers such as those in Trinity Casket can also apply make-up, clothes and hair styling to present the deceased with the dignity and respect they deserve.
Trinity casket has two fully trained and qualified specialist embalmers, male and female. All female deceased are handled by our female embalmer because the process requires intimate handling.
